"Activism for Busy People"

Join NACDL, VACDL and Justice Forward Virginia on October 10th, at 5:30 p.m., for an advocacy training entitled "Activism for Busy People." The roughly 2-hour training is designed to prepare criminal defense lawyers for effectively advocating for criminal justice reform in Virginia.

After the training, you will be prepared to meet with your state legislators and participate in lobby days at the Virginia General Assembly when it convenes January 2018.

Topics covered will include:

  • changing the world – starting at home;
  • advocating with elected officials;
  • getting the right elected officials;
  • sharing stories; and
  • other best practices.

Elena Langworthy from the Virginia Civic Engagement Table (VCET) will lead the training.
